Couples Therapy: An Introduction with Ellyn Bader & Dan Wile
In this video, two renowned couples and marriage experts, Ellyn Bader and Dan Wile discuss what couples therapy is and what it is not. A valuable resource beginning therapists, and for clients this to help them get their couples therapy off on the right track.
What are the key issues that most couples face when entering couples therapy, and what are the best attitudes for them to adapt to make the most out of the experience? In numerous heartwarming stories, Bader and Wile explain how couples therapy works, and describe the positive changes that can occur, even for couples who appear at first hopelessly deadlocked. They describe the two most common patterns in couples: withdrawal from each other and avoiding dealing with critical issues, or engaging in repeated conflict that leaves each partner hurt and angry.
Despite the hope couple’s therapy offers, many couples (or one partner) are reluctant or afraid to seek professional assistance. Couples Therapy: An Introduction can help ease these fears by laying out a roadmap of what the process entails, and providing some reality-based encouragement on what kinds of changes are possible. This video will be valued by couples of all types, as well as the therapists and counselors who work with them.

In Depth
This is a great resource to keep in your “lending library”–or to start your lending library if you don’t have one. Then lend it out to couples after their first session to help them better understand how couples therapy works, and what attitudes they can adapt to increase their (and your) chances for success. It also makes for a nice homework assignment after the first session, and your clients will really appreciate this added touch. Clients often ask what they can do between sessions, and often in the beginning phases, especially for high conflict couples, they really don’t have the tools to address the issues on their own between sessions. But they can at least sit down, and watch this video together without escalating into an argument, so it’s a nice task to give them to do, and it’s also just the right length of time.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Innovative Business Model:
- Embrace the reality of a genuine business! Our approach involves forming a group buy, where we collectively share the costs among members. Using these funds, we purchase sought-after courses from sale pages and make them accessible to individuals facing financial constraints. Despite potential reservations from the authors, our customers appreciate the affordability and accessibility we provide.
- The Legal Landscape: Yes and No:
- The legality of our operations falls into a gray area. While we lack explicit approval from the course authors for resale, there’s a technicality at play. When procuring the course, the author didn’t specify any restrictions on resale. This legal nuance presents both an opportunity for us and a boon for those seeking budget-friendly access.
- Quality Assurance: Unveiling the Real Deal:
- Delving into the heart of the matter – quality. Acquiring the course directly from the sale page ensures that all documents and materials are identical to those obtained through conventional means. However, our differentiator lies in going beyond personal study; we take an extra step by reselling. It’s important to note that we are not the official course providers, meaning certain premium services aren’t included in our package:
- No coaching calls or scheduled sessions with the author.
- No access to the author’s private Facebook group or web portal.
- No entry to the author’s exclusive membership forum.
- No direct email support from the author or their team.
We operate independently, aiming to bridge the affordability gap without the additional services offered by official course channels. Your understanding of our unique approach is greatly appreciated.
