Child Therapy – Tools, Toys and Techniques With Paris Goodyear-Brown, Scott Riviere & Janine Shelby
Simply learning the theories of child development and therapy does not make us better or even more effective child therapists. Watch and learn from a talented trio of child clinicians as they demonstrate 10 playful, creative and interactive techniques for connecting with children and helping them cope with sadness, anger, anxiety and trauma.
It is easy to feel stuck in therapy with children, trying to figure out the best way to connect with and help them with their problems. It’s even easier to fall into the rut of using the same old toys and games over and over, expecting different therapeutic results. Goodyear-Brown, Shelby and Riviere understand this and know their way around the therapeutic playroom. They demonstrate 10 play-based techniques using a myriad of materials and activities including drawing, puppets, role-play, storytelling, arts-and-crafts, and mindfulness—all proven to help your young clients better cope with anxiety, sadness and trauma.
Using a “prescriptive-eclectic” approach which matches evidence-based CBT-oriented techniques with the child’s symptoms, they fully describe and playfully demonstrate enjoyable, easy-to-learn and effective tools for your therapeutic toolbox. You will learn to creatively engage with your young clients in a flexible and non-threatening way; keeping them interested, engaged and moving towards solutions to their problems. In turn, they will enjoy their time with you and see that problems can be shared, measured and solved.
WHAT THERAPISTS ARE SAYING…
“Nothing is better than watching the experts show us how their techniques are done–unless they also explain the rationale, which they do here. This video includes fantastic descriptions and enactments of ten techniques to help play therapists and others working with children to overcome anger and worry. That the techniques can be used with many ages is an added bonus!”
—Julie Nash, PhD

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Innovative Business Model:
- Embrace the reality of a genuine business! Our approach involves forming a group buy, where we collectively share the costs among members. Using these funds, we purchase sought-after courses from sale pages and make them accessible to individuals facing financial constraints. Despite potential reservations from the authors, our customers appreciate the affordability and accessibility we provide.
- The Legal Landscape: Yes and No:
- The legality of our operations falls into a gray area. While we lack explicit approval from the course authors for resale, there’s a technicality at play. When procuring the course, the author didn’t specify any restrictions on resale. This legal nuance presents both an opportunity for us and a boon for those seeking budget-friendly access.
- Quality Assurance: Unveiling the Real Deal:
- Delving into the heart of the matter – quality. Acquiring the course directly from the sale page ensures that all documents and materials are identical to those obtained through conventional means. However, our differentiator lies in going beyond personal study; we take an extra step by reselling. It’s important to note that we are not the official course providers, meaning certain premium services aren’t included in our package:
- No coaching calls or scheduled sessions with the author.
- No access to the author’s private Facebook group or web portal.
- No entry to the author’s exclusive membership forum.
- No direct email support from the author or their team.
We operate independently, aiming to bridge the affordability gap without the additional services offered by official course channels. Your understanding of our unique approach is greatly appreciated.
