Module 6: Concert Pitch & Tuning Systems — Choose Instruments to Heighten the Effectiveness of Your Sound Healings
Many sound-healing practitioners prefer to not use sounds and music that are based on concert pitches. They prefer older tuning systems that are tuned to nature and resonate through the whole universe.

A tuning system is the frequency of each of the notes within a 12-note octave. As David will explain, prior to the 1700s, most cultures created tuning systems based on the mathematical harmonic series of sounds found throughout nature.

Concert pitch is the core frequency to which an instrument is tuned. The standard has been 440 Hz — although now, many sound healers and musicians are using 528 and 432 hertz. David will share the implications and uses of pitch and tuning.

About David Gibson
David Gibson is the founder and director of the Globe Sound Healing Institute in San Francisco (and online), offering individual classes and state-approved certificate programs in sound healing and sound therapy.
