We can assure you that no matter how bad you want your child to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, if you do not follow the proven strategies outlined in this course, you will drastically reduce your chances of success. On the other hand, if you do follow the program, not only will your child’s confidence skyrocket, but the bond between the two of you will grow stronger than ever before. Our father introduced us to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu before we could walk, but, he didn’t formally “teach” us any techniques until we were five or six years old. Instead, he developed ten playful exercises based on the fundamental principles of the art. He called these exercises “Gracie Games.” At Gracie University, we introduce all children to the art with these games, and in this course, we will teach you how to play them with your child. Each Gracie Game and has three levels. When all 10 games have been completed, you will go back to the first game and play it again. But, each time you cycle through the games, you will gradually increase the intensity level. This process of cycling through the games at increasing levels of intensity will continue until your child masters all 10 Gracie Games and has fallen in love with the fun aspect of the art, at which point they will be ready for the Jr. Combatives course.

By teaching your child the Rules of Engagement, not only will you ensure that they do not abuse their power, but you will give them a step-by-step plan to follow any time they are targeted by a bully and the assurance that you will support them in the event that they are compelled to stand up for themselves.

Once your child accepts the Rules of Engagement, they will be ready to learn the highly effective self-defense techniques featured in the Jr. Combatives course. Based on the same techniques that comprise the Gracie Combatives course (minus the chokes), the Jr. Combatives course is broken down into 33 lessons. In each lesson, we teach you one highly simplified technique as well as all the associated teaching tricks and safety tips that you’ll need to ensure your child learns the technique. Once your child is comfortable with the newly learned technique they will be ready to execute it in combination with all the previously learned techniques in the Bully Battle training exercise featured at the end of the lesson. Once your child can execute all of the Jr. Combatives techniques in combination with one another, they will be ready to move on to the Gracie Combatives adult curriculum (available at GracieUniversity.com)
