Richard Strozzi-Heckler – Embodied Leadership & Somatic Coaching – Collection

About

This course will be an inquiry into the methodology of Somatic Coaching and the principles of Embodied Leadership as used in organizational work. Distinctions, principles and practices will be organized around one’s own personal and professional development.

Students will be introduced to key elements that underlie a somatic transformation and practices that are necessary to fulfill one’s personal and professional commitments, including the role of Body Work in initiating a Somatic Opening.

Methods for embodied leadership in teams and organizations, the importance of somatic embodied practices to sustain change and transformation, and the cost of teams and organizations who do not include our capacity for intuition, sensing and feeling will be explored.

Module 1: What do we mean by body, soma, and embodiment?
We will examine our inherited historical interpretation of the body and how this perspective contributes to breakdowns in our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. We will look at a current interpretation of the body in which we see the body as more than a collection of parts of a medical anatomy, but rather as a holistic shape of our livingness. In this way, we can say that the body is the shape of our experience. In this interpretation, we can arguably claim that the self and the body are intimately linked together.

Module 2: A Somatic Methodology
We will explore a working methodology to bring about a somatic transformation. This will include the elements of Somatic Awareness, Somatic Opening, Somatic Practices, Social Context, Landscape, and Spirit. We will inquire into these distinctions as ways to perceive a somatic reality, practice a somatic sensibility, and releasing historical patterns that confine us in behaviors that are no longer useful.

Module 3: The Arc of Somatic Transformation
As individuals, teams, and organizations move through a period of change and transition there are distinctions, patterns, and practices that can inform and guide their transformation. In this module, we look at the Arc of Somatic Transformation and identify the different stages in this Arc, and the practices that will move us through this arc from the historical shape to the new shape.

Module 4: Somatic Opening – The Unbounded State
As we move through the Arc of Somatic Transformation, we will inevitably move into a space in which the usual signposts of our lives will fade to the background, no longer seem important to us, or simply dissolve, and we find ourselves without our usual orientation to meaning and purpose. The world looks different and we seem to be in a vast protoplasmic ocean in which our future seems unknown and uncertain. In this module, we will inquire into the significance and importance of this stage, and how we navigate through it.

Module 5: The Rhythm of Excitement and the Conditioned Tendency
We are historical beings who embody patterns of behavior that have historically brought us fulfillment, safety, connection, and dignity. At some point we come to see that these conditioned patterns are outdated and no longer bring us satisfaction. We call this response to pressure or threat (perceived or real) our Conditioned Tendency. These patterns also show up in the way that we process our excitation. We call this the Rhythm of Excitement. In this module we will examine the importance of identifying the Conditioned Tendency and Rhythm of Excitement for personal transformation and healing.

Module 6: The Leadership Dojo
In this module, we will examine the process of creating an embodied leadership culture in teams and organizations. We will discuss the importance of using somatic practices to build authenticity, transparency, skillful action, trust, conversations for action, and the satisfaction of working towards a common goal.

Students who take this course will:

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Innovative Business Model:
    • Embrace the reality of a genuine business! Our approach involves forming a group buy, where we collectively share the costs among members. Using these funds, we purchase sought-after courses from sale pages and make them accessible to individuals facing financial constraints. Despite potential reservations from the authors, our customers appreciate the affordability and accessibility we provide.
  2. The Legal Landscape: Yes and No:
    • The legality of our operations falls into a gray area. While we lack explicit approval from the course authors for resale, there’s a technicality at play. When procuring the course, the author didn’t specify any restrictions on resale. This legal nuance presents both an opportunity for us and a boon for those seeking budget-friendly access.
  3. Quality Assurance: Unveiling the Real Deal:
    • Delving into the heart of the matter – quality. Acquiring the course directly from the sale page ensures that all documents and materials are identical to those obtained through conventional means. However, our differentiator lies in going beyond personal study; we take an extra step by reselling. It’s important to note that we are not the official course providers, meaning certain premium services aren’t included in our package:
      • No coaching calls or scheduled sessions with the author.
